Diving
The strong winds and seas at the turn of the century sent many ships to the bottom of Lake Huron. They are now preserved by the water that ended their voyage, waiting to be explored.
Novice and experienced divers will find adventure in the waters off the Upper Thumb. The Thumb Area Bottomland Preserve runs from the tip of Huron County near Port Austin to Wagener Park, south of Harbor Beach.
Also, the Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse Museum houses photographs, artifacts and footage representing wrecks of the park of interest to both the diver and non-diver.
